A canal cruise in Amsterdam with your own group

Rather not share a crowded boat with strangers? At Mokumboot, a canal cruise through Amsterdam is always private. The boat is only for your group, you pick the time, and the skipper sails the route that suits you. Along the way, they tell you about the canal houses, bridges and stories of the city.

You sail on an open sloop or a classic tugboat, with room for up to 35 people. A cruise lasts 2, 2.5 or 3 hours. The price is per boat, not per person: with ten people, that works out at about € 42.50 each.

  • Only your group on board
  • An experienced skipper who knows the city
  • Route and time arranged with you
  • Food and drinks on board available
  • 100% electric and quiet

Our canal boats

Classic tugboat

Our tugboats are modelled on the traditional Amsterdammertje. You sit on cushions at a long table, with a bar and a toilet on board. In good weather the boat opens up completely; when it's less nice out, you stay dry under the canopy.

Luxury open sloop

In the open sloop you sit low on the water with a clear view of the facades and bridges. There's room to walk around, grab a drink or switch seats for a photo.

Both boats are 100% electric and take up to 35 people. In autumn and winter there are umbrellas and blankets on board.

Routes through the canal ring

The skipper takes you along the Singel, Herengracht, Keizersgracht and Prinsengracht, the canal ring that has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2010. You pass under the Magere Brug, sail by the Royal Theatre Carré and through the quieter canals where life slows down. Spot something you'd like to see more of? Just say so and the skipper will adjust the route.

Food and drinks on board

A canal cruise really becomes a night out with a drink and something tasty. Together with our regular caterers, we arrange snack platters, lunch or dinner on board. Or go for the pizza boat or the pancake boat, where the food is served fresh. Prefer to bring your own? That's fine, for a corkage fee.

Sailing in the evening? Then you see the lit-up canal houses and bridges at their best.
