Canal cruise Amsterdam group

Your own boat with skipper for your group, up to 35 people

A canal cruise with your group, no strangers on board

Heading out on the canals with friends, family, colleagues or your sports club, but rather not among other passengers? At Mokumboot you always sail privately. You rent the whole boat with skipper, just for your group. You pick the time and the skipper sails the route that suits you, telling stories about the canal houses, bridges and the city along the way, in English and Dutch.

One boat takes up to 35 people. Smaller groups are welcome too. The price is per boat, not per person: a 2-hour cruise costs € 425. With ten people, that works out at about € 42.50 each.

  • Only your group on board, up to 35 people
  • 2, 2.5 or 3 hours on the water
  • Route and time arranged with you
  • Food and drinks on board available
  • 100% electric and quiet

Group on board a Mokumboot tugboat near the Magere Brug

Canal cruise Amsterdam for a large group

With a large group, you choose between the classic tugboat and the luxury open sloop. Both boats take up to 35 people and are 100% electric.

Classic tugboat

Modelled on the traditional Amsterdammertje. You sit on cushions at a long table, with a bar and a toilet on board. Great for a birthday, drinks or dinner on the water.

Luxury open sloop

You sit low on the water with a clear view of the facades and bridges. There's room to walk around, grab a drink or switch places for a group photo.

Is your group larger than 35 people? Ask us about the options; our fleet has 80 boats.

Routes for your group

The skipper takes you along the Singel, Herengracht, Keizersgracht and Prinsengracht, the canal ring that has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2010. You pass under the Magere Brug, sail by the Royal Theatre Carré and through the quieter canals. Got a wish, like passing your hotel or a spot with a story? Mention it beforehand or just say so on board.

Food and drinks with your group

Together with our regular caterers, we arrange snack platters, lunch or dinner on board. With kids along, the pizza boat or the pancake boat is a good choice. Prefer to bring your own? That's fine, for a corkage fee.

Boarding at Central Station

You board at our location close to Amsterdam Central Station or at the NEMO Science Museum, so everyone in your group can get there easily by public transport. Boarding elsewhere, for example at your hotel or restaurant, can be arranged for an extra charge.

Prams are welcome on board, and so are assistance dogs. Unfortunately our boats are not wheelchair accessible.
