Don't fancy squeezing through packed streets on King's Day? On the water you get space, a view and your own spot right in the middle of the orange party. At Mokumboot you always sail privately: the boat is just for your group and the skipper takes care of the rest.
You sail on a classic tugboat or a luxury open sloop, with room for up to 35 people. Both boats are 100% electric. The skipper knows the canals and knows where it gets busy and where you get a good view of the party.
King's Day is the busiest day of the year on the canals and availability is limited, so we work with a separate offer on that day. Request a quote and we'll tell you what's possible for your group.
- Only your group on board
- A skipper who knows the city and the crowds

Through the orange party with a skipper
Classic tugboat
Our tugboats are built after the traditional Amsterdammertje. You sit at a long table, with a bar and a toilet on board. Handy on a day when the toilets on shore are packed.
Luxury open sloop
In the open sloop you sit low on the water, with a clear view of the partying quays and bridges. There's room to walk around and swap seats.
The skipper sails and tells you about the city along the way, in English and Dutch. You plan the route together, depending on where the party is at that moment.
Boarding, food and drinks
You board at our boarding point near Amsterdam Central Station or at the NEMO Science Museum. Boarding somewhere else is possible on request, for an extra charge.
Our regular caterers can provide snack boards, lunch or dinner. You can also bring your own for a corkage fee. Your King's Day quote tells you exactly what's possible on the day.
Rather sail yourself on King's Day?
With a smaller group you can take the helm yourself. Rent an electric sloop for up to 8 people; you don't need a boating licence. Book early, because on King's Day the sloops go fast.

Private on the water on other big days too
The party on the canals doesn't stop after King's Day. During Pride Amsterdam and the Amsterdam Light Festival you also sail with just your own group, and the rest of the year you can book a private tour whenever it suits you.
